So if you need to zoom more, you will have to press the plus or the minus key multiple times. Pressing the plus or minus keys would change the zoom level by 15. Better yet, this even automatically brings up a list with your previous choices. To use the keyboard shortcuts, you need to hold the Control key and the ALT keys together, and then press the plus key or the minus key. If you want a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+3 sets the focus to the Quick Access tool.
I do it so often, my Quick Access tool pulls it up as a previous choice right at the top of the list so I can just type "font" with a tap on the enter key and Boom!, I'm there. Press the Tab key until you hear Zoom increments, followed by the current value. One click replaces the 4 needed to get there through menus. Type in "font", then, from the list that drops down, click on the link for "Preferences->Colors and Fonts->General->Appearance". We support a High Contrast color theme on all platforms. Increase by Increment, Ctrl-Shift-> Decrease by Increment, Ctrl-Shift-< (add Alt to the above keystrokes to make them Increment x 5) Adjust Leading Increase. The default value is 0 and each increment/decrement changes the zoom level by 20. Use the Quick Access tool at the upper left corner. When you adjust the zoom level with the View > Zoom In / Out commands, the zoom level is persisted in the window.zoomLevel setting. If you are a Microsoft Windows user, your Zoom shortcuts are a little different from Mac because there is no Command key. Here's a quicker way than multi-layer menus without resorting to plug-ins:
